Extended design possibilities with established quality standard .AKOTHERM has succeeded in making an excellent development with the SI series, in line with the company philosophy of the evolution of the systems. The system solution for front doors which has been established on the market for years, leaves no stone unturned when it comes to designing private entrance areas. A further optimisation of the popular series now offers the highest comfort and a modern look.
It is not only due to its excellent heat insulation, the tried and tested production technology and the compatibility with existing systems that the SI series are valued by users and customers alike. With the help of the highly heat insulated 3 chamber profile system from Akotherm, a modern front door can be created with up to four sealing levels without a problem. The construction depth can be up to 85mm for frames, for door leaves also up to 85mm and for the sash bars up to 65mm. The glazing can be between 24mm and 52mm thick. The leaf profiles are fitted with sliding insulation breaks, to counteract the bimetal effect and therefore guarantee optimum functionality, particularly in the case of direct sunlight on dark surfaces. In addition, with the help of a special basic profile, both in old and new buildings, a barrier-free transition from outside to inside can be achieved. With just 19mm installation height of the threshold in the floor area, and a covered, horizontal fastening, a fluid transition is not just guaranteed visually. High security against break-ins and the huge variation and design possibilities, make Akotherm’s successful solution for front doors in the private sector stand out.
The “basic door” in the series with two sealing levels is made up of a combination of various frame and leaf profiles. Of course, an expansion to three sealing levels or the premium model with four sealing levels is possible, as the design of the system can be individually adjusted to the wishes of the customer. In this way, the integration of the fourth sealing level leads to a driving rain tightness of up to 600PA (class 94) and therefore corresponds to the requirements which are set for windows. Also for heat insulation, excellent values of 0.84W/m²K are achieved for the values of the elements.
In addition to the expansion of the system with four sealing levels, matching door leaf profiles were developed. Apart from the profile for leaf concealing door panels and the variant with sloping glass stop, now an option with straight glass stop in the outside area is also offered. With this solution, a new, more straightforward, luxurious look is achieved. The optional use of aluminium and stainless steel roller belts emphasises this impression. In spite of these expansions, production remains uncomplicated and can be carried out with the usual accessories and tools of the AT 740 SI-D system.
As usual at Akotherm, the customer can choose from a large range of design variants and combination possibilities, especially when it comes to colours, when designing their private entrance area. From anodised surfaces to RAL and metallic coatings, right up to Renolit decorative foils, it is possible to design the door frame and door leaves and the panel in the most diverse looks. The choice between roller belts in aluminium or a stainless steel design and various screw-on belts, completes the individual conception of the door.
