Fire and smoke protection is a central theme at Akotherm’s stand at the BAU 2011. In Munich, at the world’s largest fair for the building industry, the Bendorf (between Cologne and Frankfurt) based aluminium profile system manufacturer will be presenting a most impressive system spectrum for windows, doors, façades and winter gardens.
Akotherm will be proving at the BAU 2011 that effective fire and smoke protection can be combined with a modern, contemporary look with its new fire doors and wall elements
AT 630 BS (approval number: Z-6.20-1845 „System coolfire“) and AT 690 BS (approval number: Z-6.20-1836 „System coolfire“) in a very attractive glass frame construction. The new fire and smoke elements are for Akotherm’s managing director, Frank Schneider, “a meaningful and logical extension and enhancement to further complement and round-off our core product range of profile systems for windows doors, façades and winter gardens.”
While the elements AT 630 BS are suitable for the requirements of the fire resistance class T30, the elements AT 690 BS conform to the fire stop class T90. In connection with an automatically lowerable floor seal, the fire doors have also been inspected and approved, and conform to DIN 18095, smoke protection. “In addition, the fire and smoke stops are also burglary resistant, conforming to resistance class WK3”, an engineer of the Akotherm application technology informs us.
The technical head of Akotherm, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Markus Kütscher, explains: “The ready-to-install complete units that we supply give our partners additional security, also with the costs. Complete elements, to be installed as per the instructions and guidelines, represent an easy-to-calculate and cost effective alternative to self-made products for any metal construction company; especially then, when full capacity has been reached.”
The fire protection systems don’t burn, but they do shine and stand out – typically Akotherm – with additional sophisticated technical refinements, e.g. a maximum height of 2.5 metres is attainable with only two door hinges. The doors can be perfectly and freely adjusted with only three axes. Numerous options and combinations for the single or double doors - including skylights and side parts or combined with glazed fire protection wall elements - always ensure an attractive, modern appearance. In keeping with the architectural requirements, stainless steel look, powder coated or painted finishes are available.
Akotherm’s managing director, Mr. Frank Schneider: “For the systems we offer, we always pay a lot of attention to maximum practicability combined with the simplicity of use. Akotherm systems should always enable the processor to be able work efficiently, saving time and money. We would be more than happy to be given the opportunity of introducing our new, practice-orientated Akotherm developments, together with our philosophy of close partnership cooperation, to any interested party - in Hall C1, Stand 518. We would like to show that working together ‘putting practice into practice’ is a foundation stone of our conception for cooperating closely with our partners. We also want to underline this with our fair slogan: ‘We speak your language’!
